Quality is decided before the photographer arrives
A successful shoot is prepared. Equipment and technique do part of the work, but the actual state of the place at capture time largely determines the final result: a cluttered space, poorly controlled light or temporary signage show up in every panorama.
A few hours of preparation save hours of retouching — and re-shoots.
The pre-shoot checklist
What we systematically ask our clients to check:
- Tidy up: boxes, cables, cleaning products, bins and temporary notices leave the frame.
- Clean reflective surfaces: glass, mirrors and stainless steel show immediately in 360°.
- Switch on all lighting and replace dead bulbs, including in secondary areas.
- Harmonise light temperatures where possible (warm/cold mixes complicate grading).
- Dress the spaces: linen in place, tables set, shelves stocked, plants cared for.
- Plan access: keys, badges, quiet time slots and a contact person on site.

Light: the real subject
In HDR photography as in virtual tours, natural light remains the best ally. We plan slots according to room orientation, season and weather. For exteriors and drone views, the hours around sunrise and sunset deliver noticeably better results.
Conversely, full midday sun flattens volumes and burns out glazed areas.
People, privacy and permissions
A place with life in it is more attractive, but the presence of people requires their consent: we favour quiet slots, or organise the shoot with consenting models. For premises open to the public, warn your teams and your visitors.
For drone work, feasibility also depends on the flight zone, any authorisations and the weather: we systematically study these points before travelling.
