When image quality makes all the difference

A virtual tour starts with a beautiful image. We do not merely photograph a place in 360°: we render it with light, precision and realism — HDR, high definition, professional equipment and the craft of our photographers.

The starting point

A virtual tour starts with a beautiful image.

At HD MEDIA we do not merely photograph a place in 360°. We set out to render it with light, precision and realism, so that the visitor actually wants to explore it. To get there we combine HDR photography, high definition, professional equipment and the craft of our photographers. The result: bright, detailed, immersive panoramas built to showcase your venue on every screen.

Light

Windows, backlight and artificial lighting mastered within a single panorama.

Precision

50 megapixels minimum: detail holds up under zoom.

Realism

Not an artificial image: the place as it is, at its best.

Immersion

The visitor is inside the place, not in front of a picture of it.

HDR technology

HDR technology to master the light.

Light is one of the main challenges of 360° photography. Within one room the photographer deals with very bright windows, darker corners, artificial lighting and sometimes strong backlight. HDR — High Dynamic Range — means working across several exposure levels to recover more information in the highlights as well as in the shadows. The goal is not an artificial image, but a realistic and flattering rendering of the place. A good 360° photo should not merely show a space. It should make you want to step inside.

The difference

Not all 360° photos are equal.

Two virtual tours can look alike at first glance and still differ sharply in image quality. Some automated or consumer 360° solutions are built above all to simplify and speed up the shoot. HD MEDIA made a different choice: put photographic quality at the centre of the virtual tour.

  1. The camera equipment

Several capture setups, chosen according to the demands of the project.

  2. Mastery of light

Backlight, mixed sources and brightness gaps handled at capture time.

  3. HDR processing

Multiple exposures merged to recover both highlights and shadows.

  4. Definition and fineness

50 megapixels minimum, up to 15,000 × 7,500 pixels on premium projects.

  5. Where the camera stands

Height, viewpoint and orientation chosen to serve the volumes of the place.

  6. Stitching the panorama

Invisible seams and a true horizon across the whole sphere.

  7. Checking the result

Processing and a final check, panorama by panorama, before publication.

National network

The photographer’s craft makes the difference.

Technology does not replace the photographer’s eye. Camera height, choice of viewpoint, panorama orientation, handling of light sources and the way volumes are brought out all shape how a place is perceived. HD MEDIA relies on a national network of professional photographers trained in panorama and virtual-tour production. That expertise lets the shoot adapt to each environment: hotel, restaurant, shop, showroom, campsite, estate agency, event venue, tourist site, heritage building.

Height and viewpoint

Chosen place by place, because they decide how volumes read.

Panorama orientation

The tour opens on whatever the place does best.

Trained in our methods

A consistent result from one département to the next, multi-site included.

In use

Quality that survives the zoom.

A 360° photograph should look good as a whole, and also hold its detail when the visitor looks closer. High definition turns the zoom into a genuine tool of discovery.

A hotel

Décor and amenities take part in choosing a room.

A restaurant

Atmosphere and layout are decisive.

A showroom or a shop

Products and materials must stay legible under zoom.

An event venue

The client wants to grasp the volumes and the equipment available.

A cultural or heritage site

Architectural detail is part of the visit itself.

A property

Finishes, materials and overall condition can be checked on screen.

From photo to experience

A photograph designed to become interactive.

An HD MEDIA 360° photo can be far more than a panoramic image: it is the raw material of our virtual tours and Web 360 experiences. From the panorama it becomes possible to add text, photos, videos, documents, product sheets, links, online booking or quote requests. The visitor no longer merely looks at your venue: they explore it and interact with it.

Text and information

Opening times, prices, services: the answer where the question arises.

Photos, galleries and video

Extra media opened straight from the panorama.

Documents and product sheets

Menus, brochures, plans and catalogues consulted without leaving the tour.

Booking and quotes

The action happens inside the tour: book, request a quote, ask for a call back.

Multi-device

A professional image on every screen.

The combination of HDR, high definition and professional processing holds up on all four devices. The quality of the original shot is decisive: the richer the source image, the more it allows today and tomorrow.

Smartphone

Touch navigation, no app to install.

Tablet

The most comfortable exploring format on the move.

Desktop

Large screen: where high definition shows best.

VR headset

Full immersion, for trade shows and presentations.

At a glance

HD MEDIA quality at a glance.

Professional HDR

To master brightness gaps and render spaces naturally.

High definition

To keep detail fine and make the zoom worth using.

Professional equipment

Several capture setups according to the demands of the project.

Professional photographers

The human craft without which places are not shown at their best.

Photographic processing

To obtain consistent, bright, flattering panoramas.

Web 360 & virtual tour

To turn the photograph into an immersive, interactive experience.

Frequently asked

Your questions about 360° photography

What is HDR in 360° photography?
HDR — High Dynamic Range — means photographing the same scene at several exposure levels, then merging those frames. This recovers the information that underexposure lost in the shadows and that overexposure burned out in the highlights. On a 360° panorama it makes windows and outdoor views visible instead of white, and dark corners legible instead of black.
What is the resolution of your 360° panoramas?
Our production standard is 50 megapixels minimum, for every client — not only for large projects. For the most demanding work, key accounts or premium projects, we have equipment able to produce panoramas reaching 15,000 × 7,500 pixels. That resolution is what keeps the zoom sharp on furniture, materials or displayed products.
How do your 360° photos differ from an automated solution?
Automated or consumer 360° solutions are built to simplify and speed up the shoot; photographic quality is a by-product there, not a goal. At HD MEDIA it is the starting point. The difference plays out on seven things: the equipment, mastery of light, HDR processing, resolution, where the camera stands, how the panorama is stitched, and the final check.
Can a 360° photo become an interactive virtual tour?
Yes: the panorama is the raw material of our virtual tours and Web 360 experiences. From it we add text, photos, galleries, videos, documents, product sheets, links, online booking, quote requests and navigation between spaces. That is what turns the visitor from a spectator into an explorer.
Do you work across the whole of France?
Yes. HD MEDIA relies on a national network of professional photographers trained in our panoramic capture methods, which lets us work in every département with a consistent result — decisive for multi-site brands, whose venues must look alike from one city to the next.
